Can you get neutral? Check the shifter & linkage.

Sluggy, move this post to tech PLZ.......

I'd try to remove shifter linkage at transmission, and shift it into reverse there right at the trans(it should only be one rod that goes to tranny). If you cannot get it to go into reverse by shifting it at the transmission, you more than likely have a broken shift fork in trans or blown shift collar. Im no expert on this trans, but it really shouldn't be that hard to fix if you are mechanically inclined. Or at the minimum you can pull the trans and take it to a polaris dealr, would probably save you some bux. The belt on these quads have nothing to do with forward and reverse. They are only a drive to the trans(if you really wanna call it that).
