I know what you are going to say..."It's a Polaris!". I know she is tempermental, but for the most part it is a strong machine. It just gets hot really quick. I have found that my radiator gets clogged very easily and would like to move it up higher on to my front rack. The fabrication of mount brackets and such won't be a problem for me. It is the small tech questions that are preventing me from moving forward on this.

Has anyone done this to their machine? What kind of issues did you face? I would reallly love to hear, before I get started....

This is done by the boys down south that do some DEEP mudding, you can get some info on highlifter.com check out the polaris forum. Seems like an easy mod to me.

Thanks for you input. I have browsed quite extensively thru highlighter’s site. It is, as a matter of fact, where I had initially gotten the idea. But being the creative, cheap bastard that I am, I want to make my own MOD kit. I am a Metal Smith by trade; however I am worried about some of the mechanical issues that may arise after I have mounted the radiator up top. My biggest concern right now is how to fill it up. Mounting the radiator up top, without purchasing high lifters radiator would mean that my fill cap would be below the radiator itself. I was just looking for someone else’s input that may have attempted this MOD under their "shade tree".

Start a post on that site, I'm sure you will get a lot of input. Seems like just making a bracket and longer hoses and wires for the fan. How would your fill cap be lower? Your overflow would be..

Why do you want to do this anyways? Do you do a lot of mudding? I do plenty and only overheated once, but now i clean my radiator real well after every ride and when I am out and come to a stream I sometimes will clean it then. No problems.... Anyways good luck!
