I have a 1995 Polaris Sport 400L that shuts off when you shift it to reverse. Have checked wiring and don't find any shorts. Possible switch on transmission? Any ideas? Thanks

Once it's in reverse, can the engine be started and continue to run?

Turns out this is a intermittent problem. Went out there a while ago and it worked fine. An hour later the problem was back. Now I'm really confused!!!
