I don't know how others feel however I want to suggest losing the shoutbox. Personally I think it is unnecessary and a bit juvenile. To me less is more. A simple website is better in my opinion.

Thanks for your suggestion and I would like to open this up and get everyone's input.

Keep or remove shoutbox?
Would it help if we did not allow smilies?

I'm on the fence , it has pros & cons , If it stays maybe lose the smilies ( but then supercrew will be pissed .. he's got that fetish thing) .
It makes it faster to talk quick to someone w/ out pm'ing back and forth , But prevents posting and sometimes makes people feel left out of the loop ( newbies tend to shy away feeling they are interupting a private conversation..

I'd say keep it. I understand what Hevster's saying, but at a time when alot of the ATV sites are either gone or very quiet, it shows some life on a site even if no one has a "post-worthy" comment to make in the forums. Plus, it can be a quick way for people to simply say Hi!

I agree. Sometimes it's just nice to say "hi" to another member, or shoot the breeze when you run into them without having to send a PM or add a post. Personally, I like the smileys, but I may be a bit juvenile at times :whistling:
