2002 i put 28 in outlaw tires and pro circuit slip on exhaust and a clutch kit. rode fine for half of the day then got stuck in a mud hole after that the four wheeler would only go 23 mph and would shut off like it was vapor locking after a few minutes it would start back up and go 23 till it shut off again i have checked all the switches and sensors but can not find any problems i have checked all the wires and connections everything looks good i borrowed the service manual from the local shop and went over everything with the schematics and still cant find any problem thanks for any advice

SOMETHING LIKE THAT SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO HAVE YAMAHA LOOK AT IT

I NEVER HEARD OF THAT BE4 DID YOU CHECK ALL YOU WIRES ? CONNECTORS

I heard of the vapor locking problem before but not the 23mph problem. Some people have replaced the gas tank cap. I think Yamaha has a fix for that but not sure though. You can buy a repair manual for that on ebay real cheap. Good luck

I took the grizz to shop and they couldn't find anything wrong either they were putting it back together and hit somethig in the primary sheave with a screwdriver and it was full of mud packed in somewhere looked like metal. they cleaned it out. I haven't had any problems since.

Hey give the poor guy some credit, its his second post, and he answered his own, maybe he just remembered his password tonite!

Honestly, thats fairly common for Grizz', the auto clutch assembly fillin up with mud. Make 100% sure your front trans breather pipe (big one facing forward, real low on bike) isnt hangin off.. common also..
