Hey all.
My 04 Kodiak reverse light indicator blinks once in a while when I'm in PARK. Usually first start. Some history, the first time I saw it I was using my winch to pull out a Honda (heheh, aint it always?) and I was in PARK instead of neutral, noticed then the light was blinking after maybe 20 seconds of a 1 minute pull. Has not performed any different since or even during that day, at all. First, could this light have simply been low battery? Or does the ignition (key and cylinder) realize I pulled "winch switch power" from the console somehow and was giving me some sort of error code. ANd for the record, my dealership thinks I'm nuts. Personally, if I find out that its a built in warning, I'm gonna let 'em have it.

So anyone heard this one before??

No actually, its older light, but recently popped up again. I think it was the day we made it to the burned out quad in that creek, not sure if you were there, but basically, it was like the second use of it......

It could be a loose ground wire to that light.

Ridn, naaah. The light blinks too perfectly, besides, it doesnt blink while riding, it blinks at idle. Its perfect timing, like a seatbelt light in the car. Its got to be some sort of warning... but what?

Thanks!

UPDATE: 3 dealers. 3 "dont know's", 3 dealers saying "Honda has this diagnostic built in, but we're not aware if your Kodiak has it".

Hmmmm.... That light blinks awfully steady to be a short of some sort but maybe it is.....

UPDATE, it still does it! And once it starts it can go for a while. It was in park for about 3 to 5 minutes just idling, no choke. And when I sat on it was already blinking, so I started counting and stopped at 10 or so (it was still blinking when I stopped countin). So I shut it down, and started it again. No light....... I noted that my cooling fan almost never comes on, and havent heard it lately, does anyone know how to force the fan on? Mind you maybe it doesnt come on because its in good shape too...who knows...
