Ok all you blaster owners. I'm preparing for a fun filled winter with lots of riding in mind. I would like to know what kind of tires you all have or recommend. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, it's kinda like the best bang for my buck type deal. Please help me out with some suggestions. Thanks guys

I keep my stock (expendable) tires around just for that pupose. It's real easy to be abusive to tires in the snow. You never know what's under the snow and half the time you're riding down partially cleared roads.

I ride a blaster too....

My favorite snow tires are spider tracs. you can get them for about $80 pair.

I've tried 22" turf tamers, 20" holeshots, and a few others. The spiders are great in the snow, mud, sand and water.

The spiders are not good for jumping or track use.

About the only complaint I have is that you sometimes get too much traction...

Realators work real nice. You can flip them around for different terrain. Blackwaters are also good.

Keep in mind the tire that will be good in the snow will be big and heavy and will rob you of performance.

See, that's the thing. My stock tires are the only ones I have and they are pretty much shot. Traction with those things doesn't happen as it is and it hasn't even begun to snow. To top things off, one has a nail in it that I won't take out because it somehow holds the air in. It looks like I'm gonna be buying 2 sets of tires now...one set for everyday use and another for the snow. When it rains it pours

If you want my opinion, my next set of tires will be Razr 2's...20".

If you can only afford one pair, go with the razr 2's. They are great for tracks, trails and all around general use. I saw them on RidNwarriors quad, and they were just right...meaty knobs on the center, squared off sides, and big meaty lugs on the sidewalls to help in those muddy spots!

I'm almost certain that they'll do well in the snow under 6"....after that, your need some more clearance...

And if your ridn your blaster with the stock tire now, wait until you ride it with the aftermarkets, the stockers are way too bouncy...any aftermarket will make it handle alot better.

Thanks for the advice Christian. They actually sound perfect, but I've got one more question for ya. Do you by chance know how much they cost...for reference and to be sure I don't get ripped off?

Keep your eyes open for stock wheels and tires. I bought a set of rear Yamaha wheels and tires for $70 shipped. The tires had significant wear, but it beats having to mount and unmount tires from one set of rims. If you can find a set for $100 with decent tread, you'll be in good shape.

If your Blaster has a 4x115mm lug pattern, that's the same as all the bigger Yamaha sport ATVs. I remember older Blasters used 4x110mm, but you could change to Warrior hubs and get the more common bolt pattern.

Not sure, but I'll talk to pat at cycle addicts...maybe we can get a deal if we buy two sets, one for me, and one for you! from what i saw on the net, about $75 a piece.

When I bought the spidys last winter, he gave me the best price.

Are you located in NJ? if so, what county?

your right RPYfz....

All blasters come with the smaller rear hubs.

The front wheels off blasters, banshees, raptors, yfz, will all fit each other. BUT in order to put the rears on a blaster, you will need to buy a set of warrior or shee hubs (about $65 used).

That's what I use.
