Fella's,
Question for yous....Please only respond if your know first hand....not a friend of a friends, friend told you....
I heard 2001 Craptors had some problems...But how are the 2002's....I'm thinking of buying one for a great price...The machine is completely stock, with only a slip on...Guy broke his shoulder, and it's been sitting for a year....

I've heard of people updating 2001 transmission parts with 2002 parts. That's a good sign.
BTW- In my opinion, the fact this particular machine is basically stock is a good sign.

When I bought my raptor I was told that the 01 machine had been known to break transmission parts ,But they had all been ironed out by 02. Mine is an 03 raptor and The trans has been fine.I do not believe 02/03 are any different.
I do know first hand that raptors still have problems with axle nuts and
rear sprocket bolts coming lose or breaking.
Good luck with it Christian , AND HAVE FUN RIDING ON THE REAR WHEELS ALL THE TIME.

I have an 02 Raptor no problems at all had it since new. Just regular wear and tear items. The transmissions were straightened out for 02 only the 01 were the ones that break. The starter one-way clutches supposedly go bad alot but I still have the original in there. All and all a good bike I don't have any complaints. Pm me if you have any other questions or I can give you some Raptor sites to check out they have answers to all your questions.
