hey, I'm thinking about getting rid of my scrammie 400 4x4 for a warrior, or maybe something else. How is the warrior for out on the track?? I'm lookin for a more race worthy quad, the scrammie is so heavy . And another thing, what is the stock horsepower and top speed of the warrior? Thanks

Yes you should buy a Warrior,in fact you should buy mine ,haha. If you're looking for a race worthy quad then the Warrior ain't the way to go unfornatley cause I really wanted to sell you mine. As far as top speed I guess mine probably tops out around 60 or so MPH just guessing offcourse. The Warrior ain't a real good quad on the track cause its suspension really sucks, its more of a trail machine. If you want a quad to ride on the track I suggest a YFZ 450,450R,Z400 or the new ATK aka Cannondale machines.

ya, I'm not real big on the racing, just kinda playing around with freinds on the track, I originally wanted a z-400 but it's not available on my budget right now...would it be real expensive to maybe switch shocks or something?? thanks for your help.

For the dollar, switching shocks on a Warrior isn't worth it.
You are still gonna be down on horsepower and the suspension geometry
is the real downfall on the Warrior. Yamaha came out with that design
in 1986.
I can also understand the budget thing. A Warrior is a reliable machine.
Great machine to play around with and to beat on. Get one and
don't do any big money mods to it. Make sure to maintain it well
and it will treat you good while you save more money for a newer quad.

Thats the ticket, a 400 ex is gonna be the machine for you to buy. They are selling just as cheap as a warrior and they will handle a little bit of track riding better than a warrior.

Definitely not worth it. The Warrior might be the most indestructable ATV of all time, but that's about all it's got going for it. The Warrior is more like a lateral move than a step up from the Scrambler. Your 'fun factor" would hardly increase.
