I have blaster..started out as a winter toy...just to use every now and then.., well I ride it at least every other weekend..and modified it way too much..I should have saved up and just bought a Z400..I bought it in April 2003, so in the last six months, here's what I did:

Here's a list of the mods..

Front Hydro brakes (brakes, spindles, and hubs off a Raptor)
+3+1 a-arms (Burgard)
Progessive Suspension front shocks
Rear shock off a Raptor (26 rebound clicks, 8 preload clicks, with a rezzy)
Renthal bars,
+4 swingarm
+6 rear axle (stock banshee)
Rear hydro brakes (off a raptor)
Raptor wheels and tires (for all around use..tracks,pines,)
22" Turf tamers (just for paragon..these wheels work the best)
FMF Pipe
Bored .60
Jet Kit
Uni Filter
AC Nerf bars
Alba Graphics
Ceet cover
Maier Racing Style Front Hood
Engine Bored to .60 over
Front Sprocket upped to 14

I tried alot things to make the stock brakes work. Nothing comes close to the Hydro's. If anyone needs advice on anything about their blaster..or parts, or mods, don't hesitate to contact me.

Things I still need:
Front aftermarket bumper
set of holeshot tires
works triple with rez front shocks

I am very happy with this bike. I grew up with two strokes, and will always ride them..I love when the powerband kicks in, and the sound of the screaming pipes! Nothing compares...

turf tamers
nerfbars

i liked it to a point. but i will always stick to my warrior... i like the blaster and all but i don't know if it was just how much it was modified or what... good ol' four stroke

2001 blaster
power reeds (because the stock ones broke)
douglas red label front rims with razors (because the stock ones broke and several other aftermarket ones to)
renthal bar and grips (because the stock ones bent)
gps mount (so i wont get lost)
dg skidplate
dg swingarm rear skidplate (beacuse the orginal got bent and one dg got bent beyond use)
steel plates welded onto frame at key locations (to prevent my replacment stock frame from bending like the orginal one)

Blasters are great!

The other night, I went to put my snow blower away. Once I got in the shed, I decided to begin tearing down my top end, ( as I knew i wouldn't be riding until after christmas, and a top end rebuild was really needed due to very low compression). Well, less than an hour later, I had the entire top end off, and I was already on the computer looking up the numbers off the top of the piston!

Try tearing down a 4 stroke in less than an hour!

Well anyway, I punch the numbers in off the piston into GOOGLE, and Wisecos site comes up telling me everything I need to know, its a .50 Wiseco Pro-Lite Piston!

I called up my good friend Kurt, over at Valley Cycle Accessories ( http://www.angelfire.com/va3/vcaracing/PBproducts.html ),who has supplied most of the parts listed on my bike, and all the great advice on setting up my Blaster, at the lowest possible prices)

He hooked me up with a new piston kit, wrist pin bearing, and Gasket Kit, for $115 (to my door, in two days)

Now, try rebuilding a 4-stroke top end, for $115, and in two hours! I truly do love my Blaster!

What do you guys think about aftermarket reeds? Should I run the FMF (I run a FMF pipe) or should I run Boyeson? or should I leave the stock one's alone?

PS, I have a ton of stock blaster parts, so if anyone ever needs something, just let me know. I have a listing in the for sale section.

well i have the boyeson reeds in my blaster and they make quite a difference in thottle response and low end over the stock reeds (well worth it in the short term) but they dont last more than about 8 rides (100 - 175 miles per ride) before they start feeling like the stock ones again and have to be replaced to regain there benifits.
after ride 8 i can't tell the difference between them and the stock ones.
so for a long term power gain i'd say they are a bad investment, except for the reason that they don't break off like the stock ones and leave you stranded somewhere.
